Small arms report by the UN Secretary General, 2011

This report by the UN Secretary-General was submitted to the UN Security Council to bring them up to date on issues that were presented to them in the 2008 SG report on Small Arms, and includes observations and recommendations on topics including trade and brokering, marking, record-keeping and tracing of weapons, stockpile management, armed violence and the use and misuse of small arms. It gives special attention to the trade in ammunition, problems connected with storage and the importance of tracing ammunition found in conflict settings

It also includes the Secretary-General's observations on the  implementation of the UN Programme of Action to Prevent, Combat and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All its Aspects (UN POA)
