Update from the Southern Sudan Action Network on Small Arms, May 2011

As the government of Southern Sudan prepares for official independence from North Sudan, this update from SSANSA tells of a growing cooperation between the government and the civil society in addressing the small arms problem in Southern Sudan.

It includes news about the situation in two the two Southern Sudan states of Warrap, which borders Northern Sudan, and Central Equatoria, which includes the capital Juba, and the launch of sub-national action networks on small arms in these two states on the 1st and 6th of May respectively.
