El Salvador: Gun violence prevention week

A successful gun violence prevention week was held in El Salvador from 24-30 May. Scores of people joined a rally, a concert, an inter-parliamentary forum and a seminar in which IANSA Director, Rebecca Peters, was one of the key speakers. In 2009, 4,365 people were killed in El Salvador, a country with a population of 6 million. 75% of all homicides were committed with firearms.
