WAANSA at UNDP seminar

The West African Action Network on Small Arms (WAANSA) participated in the regional seminar “Towards strengthening the role of Parliaments in crisis prevention and recovery in West Africa” in Accra, Ghana, on 28-29 June. UNDP organised the event with the financial support of the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. WAANSA was invited as a key partner for its crucial role in the successful advocacy for the ratification on the ECOWAS Convention on Small Arms and Light Weapons. WAANSA President Baffour Amoa spoke on WAANSA’s experiences and emphasised the importance of civil society in the work to engage and educate parliamentarians and increase their capacity in peace work.
