US: 600 Mayors campaign against lax gun laws

Nearly 600 US mayors have launched a campaign to identify states with lax gun laws and push for tighter restrictions to prevent the trafficking of guns used in crime. The coalition has issued a report examining comprehensive gun crime data across states. Boston Mayor Thomas Menino said the data in this report "Confirm that the illegal market for guns is driven, in part, by weak gun laws”.
