Americas: Costa Rica, Paraguay, Uruguay and The Bahamas sign OAS agreement

The Organisation of American States (OAS) and the governments of Costa Rica, Paraguay, The Bahamas and Uruguay have signed a cooperation agreement for the implementation of the project ‘Promoting Firearms Marking in Latin America and the Caribbean’. The aim of the agreement is to strengthen national capacities and provide marking equipment and training to beneficiary states. Along with El Salvador, these countries are the first to join such an agreement within the framework of the regional instrument, the Inter-American Convention against the Illicit Manufacturing and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives and Related Materials (CIFTA).
